Hi everyone, i am looking to make my first investment (about 15k) into etf's using the commsec pocket app. The fees for buy and sell will erode your returns relative to size of investment Commsec pocket is a platform aimed at micro investing, similar to raiz and spaceship.

I'm seeking views regarding the use of the commsec pocket vs commsec for regular investments in etfs.
Worth it imo, though small trades do get eaten up alittle due to the commsion.
Commsec is a way better platform but it's hard to justify the fees. I use commsec for research, depth, etc. I am looking at opening a vanguard account primarily so i can set up regular. For international trades, commsec redirects through other brokers with their own interfaces.
With commsec pocket, as far as i understand, you only have access to half a dozen investment. If you really want to invest in international shares, go direct with ibkr au would be more. Been reading a lot about slowly building wealth (take advantage of. Commsec international is a rebadged cut down version of interactive brokers, but with less features and higher fees.
I use commsec, if your already with commonwealth bank the commision drops to only $10.
Hi, i currently have around $50k in vanguard etfs which i have bought through commsec. For australian stuff and etfs sure I'd say it's a pretty bad way to manage international portfolios. Essentially, my goal is to set up a regular set and forget type of etf investment strategy.
